Dutchtown is one of the largest neighborhoods in the city of St. Louis. Located on the south side, Dutchtown’s general boundaries are defined as Chippewa St. on the North, the Union Pacific Railroad to the West, Walsh St. on the South, then Compton to Meramec to Jefferson on the South and East. Gravois Park borders Dutchtown to the north, with the following boundaries: Cherokee St. on the North, Jefferson on the East, Chippewa St. on the South, and S. Grand and Gravois to the West and Northwest.
With a population of close to 16,000 people, Dutchtown also has an above average youth population compared to the city as a whole. Gravois Park is comprised of over 5,200 residents, with over 1/3 under age 18. These neighborhoods are densely populated and in close proximity to a wide range of anchors and institutions.
Within or nearby the neighborhood boundaries you’ll find Marquette Park, the home of Dunn-Marquette Recreation Center (including a public outdoor swimming pool!), the Thomas Dunn Learning Center, Ted Drewes Frozen Custard, the Cherokee Street commercial district, St. Alexius Hospital, and Intersect Art Center.
Not far from highway 55 and 44, it is quick and easy to get anywhere in the metro area (including the Metro East) very quickly. From your home in Chippewa Park, you’ll be very close to these area amenities:
